World Home Doctor (CEO Kim Ji-youn), which manufactures/selling the next-generation sleep care functional bedding brand Dr. Friend, won the Semi Grand Prix, which is the grand prize given at the 2021 Women's Invention King EXPO, the world's largest women's invention festival, which opened online on September 28. The Women's Invention King Expo is the world's largest women's invention festival that awards and displays outstanding female inventions around the world as an integrated event of the "World Women's Invention Competition" and the "Women's Invention Fair." Hosted by the Korean Intellectual Property Office and organized by the Korea Women's Invention Association, this year, the focus was on boosting the morale of female invention entrepreneurs, promoting products, and supporting market opening under the theme of "Hope Continues."
This year's World Women's Invention Competition featured 274 items from 17 domestic and foreign countries, and 217 companies participated in the fair, up about 67% from last year.
Dr. Friend of World Home Doctor Corp. won the semi-Grand Prix, the second place among them. In particular, it was highly appreciated for realizing a stable sleep environment by incorporating the "grounding" technology, which has even obtained an invention patent, into bedding.
"I am so honored to receive such a big award at a competition hosted by the Korean Intellectual Property Office," said Kim Ji-youn, CEO of World Home Doctor, who won the award. "As Doctor Friend is the first brand to grow with the idea of incorporating the grounding technology into bedding, we will try to have a good influence on society with an idea that can create value in the future."
The Women's Invention King Expo will run until October 6, and Dr. Friend will be available through the Health/Occupy Hall in the online exhibition hall of 3D virtual reality.
